Once again I was out early, snapping away for my FF post. Another overcast , muggy morning . The A cacia pravissima has put on lots of new growth since I went at it wih the loppers. |
A very recent planting, Osmantus armatus'Jim Porter' now this one should cover the fence at 8' tall and 5' wide |
Osmanthus'country park silver' , I tryed this one in the ground. It would just disappear in the gravel and get kicked about by the dogs...and worse! much better in the blue pot. |
And more blue from the Cunninghamia |
And Dasylirion Wheeleri with Zaushneria 'Silver select' |
Hakonechloa'Ben-kaze' and Sedum Xenox yellow. |
The celandine poppy ...looking autumnal |
Pyrrosia looking ...Autumnal |
Tanaceetum densum |
Amsonia and Artemisia 'powis castle' |
Acacia dealbata |
Another new planting ....Rhamnus frangula |
Rogerersia 'rotlaub' with one of the Mysotidium hortensia or Chatham island for-get-me -nots I grow from seed last year. |
The freshest area of Platt's black brass buttons , this in the shade. The other side is rather crisp. |
And lastly I forgot to include Abutilon ' Cascade dawn' in my Bloom day , how could I forget such a sweet thing. For more beautiful , lush Foliage visit Pam at digging ! |

Love the Hakone Grass with the Sedum...stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love all your silvers, I didn't know there was a narrow-leaved silver Osmanthus. I planted a Celandine poppy this year, but it didn't bloom, so I hope it will next year. Lovely foliage!
ReplyDeleteScott, And the Hakonechloa hasn't been scorched this year!
ReplyDeleteHannah, I mislabeled one of the photos , Ozothamnus 'county park silver', not Osmanthus ! My Celandine has seelfseeded this year, haven't dared to move any yet.
ReplyDeleteLotsa lovely stuff, but I especially love the Tanacetum.
ReplyDeleteRicki, Tanacetum is one of my favorite , difficult to place in the gravel , disappears!
DeleteLike Scott, I love that Hakone grass with the sedum, such a great color echo. Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteAlison, Thanks Alison, It can be tricky , with the Sedum loving the sun, The Hakonechloa can burn !
DeleteYou've got a Cunninghamia? Jealous....
ReplyDeleteThat was my favorite too. So beautiful! Your combos, as always, are so good.
DeleteLori, It came with the house , and survived my mother chopping half of it down!
DeleteLot slots of gorgeous silvery foliage, but that Tanacetum takes the cake!
ReplyDeleteJane Tanacetum is a tiny jewel !
DeleteFirt time visiting your blog - glad I did! You have some gorgeous foliage combos going on. I think sedum and grasses look incredibly good together. I like your new Osmanthus - its a beauty!
ReplyDeleteAngie, Thank you for visiting. The Osmanthus is newly planted , I'm counting on it to finally cover my ugly fence !
DeleteBeautiful silvers! I have a lot of silvers too -- gotta love their drought tolerance. That Cunninghamia is especially fabulous.
