Garden Blogger's Bloom Day for March !

I was sat looking out the window the other day. When I could just see this tiny pink something.  I had to get my binoculars  out because it was pouring down with rain. I'd forgotten about Tulip  humbles violacea  , and much earlier than my other Tulips.

Cyclamen coum in one of my  handmade Goodwill pots .

And lastly a new bloom …Primula vulgarism 'double white'

Back in business...

The muck is piling up ! Now that we have had a few dry periods, in what has been so far this month...  cold, wet and grey.  I had planned to systematically work  through the tidying up of the garden .  I've been so deprived of out door time this winter , I've just been rampaging in every direction .

Every spare container is stuffed … that's perennials this time of year. I really need to fill in more with evergreens  !

Nearly done with the front , except the annual weeds are moving in ….

Another Crocus...

I've been waiting for this one to bloom ! It's a new one 'Chrysanthus orange monarch' . It's very tiny ,  the size of  a small candle flame.  I wish I'd planted some in a bowl , so I could bring them indoors !

I have fruit

While tidying up the sunroom , I happened to discover ….I have ripe Cape gooseberries or Physalis peruviana   !
There were lots of blooms when  I brought my two plants in for the winter. I didn't expect they would come to much. But I did give them plenty of water…. just in case .

Every now and again I give the flowers a little squeeze. The fruit seemed  not to be  getting any bigger.  But, recently  they have been turning yellow . and this morning a few had dropped . That's when I found nice ripe cherries….and very sweet  too !
