I thought I'd share one of my neighborhood pet peeves. The ' Cousin itt' Maples. Everywhere almost every house has one. I always find myself imagining how I would go about sniping them into shape. A simple thinning out of the under growth for a start ...
Here a double whammy
Weigela can be just as annoying
Hold on a minute ...that ones mine...ooops!
What are your favorite pet peeves?
My biggest pet peeve is anything and everything sheared into balls, which isn't so far from your peeve. I think that's why people like them--all of the blobbiness is built right in.
I have to admit that I have one of these in a huge pot. I fell in love with the extremely lacey leaves and weeping form but have pruned it far too lightly because I fear ruining the beautiful form with which I fell in love. As a result, it's become too blobby.
I so agree about the weeping Japanese maples. I think it's our "inner Bonsai designer" or something. We need to see what's under there and give some definition to an otherwise amorphous blob. Let's start a revolution. :)
My list is too long! But your pet peeve is a good one!
ReplyDeleteHaha...I thought the same thing as Loree...mine Pet Peeves are far too numerous to go into much detail ;-)
ReplyDeleteLori , Scott , I have plenty of them as well !
