A few new things in the garden

Amaranth 'Josephs Coat' finally went into the ground, the first plants I put out got gobbled away over night.  It's not very tall yet ,  3-4 ft x 2' w the packet says ...we shall see ! Next on the far right bottom another new one , Nasturtium 'Empress of India ' , nice dark leaves and smallish scarlet flowers .
I don't know which poppy is at the back , I can't remember throwing any seeds down , maybe it's my no show Poppy 'Black swan'.

Nicotiana 'landsdorfii' is a new one , I usually rely on my whopping big 'sylvestris'  self-seeders  . These are nice and dainty , but  sadly don't have the fragrance. Or maybe I should have a sniff at night ?

The edges of by back borders have been taken over by these mystery plants . I remember  scattering 'P. 'black swan' all along the edges . But not these ! They open up to small white daisies which I like , sort of Aster like.

Some seeds I sowed last month to fill in  the holes left by my pulling out early flowering  Lychnis , which leaves many holes.
I've got Alonsoa which is South American , so it will grow fast in this heat and last till the frost . And Ammobium a Australian perennial which I'll try to over winter . I'll have to google them because I 'm sure which is which ....
Another pot planted !

  1. Looking good, I love that amaranth. Wow. And that Nicotiana is super cool, I grew that years ago and you inspire me to do it again.

  2. Thanks for seed ideas! Hope they are doing OK with this heat. Love the little moss/selaginella(?) in container. So cute.

  3. You're so wise to plant things now that love the heat and will fill in holes left by earlier-blooming annuals. You're magic with pairing plants with your pots. These would be gobbled up at garden art shows and fairs if you ever wanted to go into production.
