Inula Orientalis which has spread out in a nice swath. A very easy plant for me; and no extra watering this dry hot summer . |
Peachy roses with Panicum 'Cheyenne sky', Foersters feather grass and Vitex "silver spires . |
Sedum, Sedum and more Sedum. |
Teucrium hircaicum 'pardise delight' this one self seeded. |
Catanache'cupids dart' |
Kanutia macedonica , this one a big blooming happy clump. Sadly my other one, not so. Badly suffering in the heat of the late afternoon …must move you! |
Finally an Agastache returns for a second summer! Don't know which one , didn't keep the tag , as I thought it would die over the winter . |
Nicotiana and Guara |
Coreopsis tinctoria 'Mahogany' grown from seed . |
A purply Penstemon , another lost tag ... |
Very thrilled to find Dyckia choristaminae…I think, blooming for the first time. |
Lastly one of my grown from seed Rosa chinensis 'Angel rose' ,very sweet and tiny at only about 6" , but much loved ! If you're wanting more July blooms visit Carol May Dreams Gardens |
Linda, I am in awe of your amazing summer flower vignettes! The roses with the grasses....inspiring!
ReplyDeleteJenny, I love this corner too, I'm glad I kept this rose , it really is a good one , not much black spot . A nice fragrance. The Panicum loves this spot, It's gotten huge ,I can hardly make my way though the path.
DeleteI love that peach Rose with the complimentary grasses...inspired!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love a peachy rose? I forgot to mention the feather grass. I bunged that in , because I had so many pieces to plant.
DeleteI love white flowers, so I wouldn't be unhappy with the all-white you expected. They make the perfect background for all those brights you discovered. My fave is the 'Mahogany' tickseed (from seed, you say?)
ReplyDeleteRickki, I love white flowers , They are hard to photograph though !
DeleteI got the original 'Mahogany last year from Annies annuals. Then horded all the seeds. They all germinated very easily . The plants themselves are a bit wimpy looking at the moment, but I only just got them in the ground , so , we'll see how they go …still some growing months to go.
My Inula has weathered the hot dry summer well too. I've been trying to take note of what did well so I can plant more, but I don't really like Inula all that much.
ReplyDeleteAlison, I'm doing the same with my plants, The Inula has earned it's place in my dry garden .
DeleteWow! So many fun flowers. My favorite is your top gladiola photo. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA lot of gorgeous blooms in your garden despite the drought. My faves were the glad, rose with grass, and the sedum picutre. Looks like a scene from the mountains.
