I have found a happy trio of edging and ground cover for a shady corner . After swapping the Black mondo grass for Carex oshimenis . The one Rumex I planted was now half a dozen . And a small pot of Creeping Charley has happily spread itself in all directions . |
The Rumex looks great with the red veins, very decorative. That's great that it self-sowed, I think mine also came back for a while, maybe it's still around. It does look very nice as an edging, very crisp.
ReplyDeleteHannah, It''s a good sellfseeder , I've found them near and far !
DeleteCharlie does his job: creeping around, covering ground. Nice of you to find him such a charming companion.
ReplyDeleteRickii, Charlie is Chartreuse, how could I not love Charlie .
DeleteIt certainly is a pretty little accent plant with the deep red veins - it is said that the leaves of r. sanguineus are edible, but I've never tried...Matt
ReplyDeleteMatt, I haven't had a taste yet. I should try it ? Something finds it tasty , lots of nibbled leaves .
