Another Keshiki bonai...

One more tiny bonsai to add to my collection , this one fits nicely into the palm of my hand  .  The little pot came from the Goodwill ,  the sedum from the garden .

Once,twice, three times ….the pond.

This was taken , just a year or so ago. After we/I decided the pond that I had  dug and lined was too small ; and just not good enough. So, We got a bigger stock tank , dug a BIG hole and dropped the tank in …much better.

This year I decided , maybe it would be much better to have the tank raised a bit. Turned out to be a much bigger operation then I'd imagined ….sorry Philip .

But, now it's done, in just two grueling days . I think it's better...

September blooms...

I had to go back to last September's bloom day to check if I had started with Saccharum ravennae . Yes, I did , but it is the biggest  bloom'in bloomer in my garden; and it's getting bigger. I don't understand it ? This is the leanest, meanest soil in the garden .  The Nicotiana sylvestris here is huge as well , being from the Andes , maybe it likes this rough ground.

Asters, Asters, Asters...

I didn't keep the tag for this beautiful Agastache . Mine don't usually survive the winter , This one did and a few other !

This grass was just  a mere sprig  I pulled out of a Panicum grass pot that I had  bought a few years ago. I planted it  out along the edge of the path , now I can just squeeze through . Someone needs to shift over.

I planted a few of these creamy yellow Coreopsis this year, this could be 'big bang full moon' ; and it has been a big bang , booming all summer long

Salvia muellerii , a sweet one , that I hope is hardier than S Greggii , which I loved and lost last year.

This evening in the garden...

The temperatures may be soaring upward  again this week , but parts of my garden are looking decidedly autumnal .

September in the garden...

I've been enjoying this new bit of planting all spring and summer.  And I'm not the only one ,  buzz , buzz , buzz all around.

And do I miss not having a dry brown lawn ?

Euphorbia oblongata...

I had to scan way back to my April photos to find when this one started blooming. It seems to have been at it for ever ; and it has.  I cut it back a month or so ago , and lo and behold , fresh growth and more blooms. And as Euphorbias do ,  seedlings here, there and everywhere .
