Lysimachia atropurpurea...

The problem with growing from seed . They often don't bloom the first year.  All that care and attention when sowing those seeds , then potting them on till they are big enough to be planted out.
So easy to get smothered and forgotten in the summer bloom excitement.
In this case I bought Lysimachia seeds in 2013. What happened to the plants ? No plants , no blooms last year.
But this year I spotted a patch of blue/green wavy foliage; and then just the tips of Claret red blooms .
So here she is at last !

  1. I saw this at a nursery a couple weeks back and had a hard time leaving it behind. Thanks for the reminder to consider it. BTW I'm wondering if your Artemisia ludoviciana 'Valerie Finnis' has made an appearance this year? Both of my plants (from you) are no-shows.

    1. Valerie is up and away ! I had to give her the " Chelsea chop" …bit floppy. I have plenty if you want any .
I'll be collecting seeds from LP this year ,so I'll have more plants I hope .

  2. I bought some of this at PDX Nursery and have it in a pot. Instant gratification. I hear it is invasive, thus the pot, but so, so beautiful. I guess between us we will soon have plenty to share.
