Making Aluminum plant trays

I needed a plant tray to fit  the bottom of my high humidity mostly Orchid  inclosure  .  It's an odd size , and I have been using a boot tray , but I thought it could use a custom made one to make the most of the space.
So my favorite house plant book  came in handy , with instructions for just that project.

I did make a start , but then decided Philip would be better at following instructions, measuring, cutting , bending metal  into a " bread pan" fold .

This is a "bread pan" fold .

The finished fold !
And here it is ! And a very nice  water tight fit .   Thank you  Ernesta Drinker Ballard and Philip !

  3. This is a good idea. I have been using cardboard box lids covered in plastic trash bags. It works fine until the plastic slides over and the cardboard gets soggy wet. Now I am on the lookout for something metal I can recycle.
